Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch erupted over some recent statements made by his career rival, Andre Ward. During an interview, Ward explained that he felt Joe Calzaghe would have been a tougher opponent than former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

Joe Cordina is done stressing over the circumstances that left him as an ex-titleholder. The only focus now is to become a two-time title claimant and to re-establish himself as the face and voice of Welsh boxing. The unbeaten former IBF junior lightweight titlist is favored by a considerable margin to regain his belt, which is

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - It’s a big week for the super middleweight division. The biggest fight of the upcoming weekend puts the 168-pounders on the marquee, with the top contenders – according to the WBC – squaring off at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Canelo Alvarez is the WBC’s champion in the division, so the 12-rounder matching David Benavidez and Caleb Plant essentially serves as an eliminator for the next high-profile shot at weight class supremacy after the pound-for-pound stalwart returns from an eight-month absence to face John Ryder.

Joe Calzaghe has backed Liam Williams to become Wales’ latest World champion as he prepares to face Demetrius Andrade for the WBO world middleweight title on Saturday night at Hard Rock Live at Hard Rock Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Fl. on Saturday April 17, live worldwide on DAZN and in association with Queensberry Promotions.

If Kell Brook pulls off the upset this weekend and dethrones Terence Crawford in Las Vegas, he believes it will rank as one of the greatest wins by a British boxer in history. It is 3½ years since Brook lost his IBF welterweight title to Errol Spence and six years since his biggest win over Shawn Porter. He has not even made the weight since the Spence fight, so no surprise people are writing him off. Brook, too, knows the task he faces to try and claim Crawford’s WBO title.

Former IBO and WBC world champion Robin Reid has turned his attention after boxing to preventing knife crime in local communities. Runcorn’s ‘Grim Reaper’ was a two-time world champion, making multiple defenses of his WBC and IBO world titles and infamously giving Joe Calzaghe what was arguably the toughest fight of Calzaghe’s career.
