Olympia, Liverpool - In a battle for the vacant International Boxing Federation European featherweight title, Jazza Dickens (27-3, 11 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Nathaniel May (21-2, 12 KOs). The scores were 97-92, 97-91 and 96-92.

May has not tasted defeat since losing a six round decision to Waylon Law back February of 2014, which was his fifth fight.

Coming in, Dickens had won four in a row since losing back to back fights to Tommy Ward (2017) and Guillermo Rigondeaux (2016).

In the fourth, Dickens hurt and dropped May. In the fifth, in what appeared to be a slip, Dickens was credited with a second knockdown when May went down as their feet got tangled.

It was a rough fight for the rest of the way, with Dickens having the advantage.

Also on the card, Sam Maxwell secured his second straight stoppage win.

The WBO European super-lightweight champion built on his scintillating vacant WBO European title win back in March with a quick finish against a Spanish visitor.

Maxwell, 30, claimed the belt in Leicester and after screaming for activity and wanting another date, he was added to the ‘MTK Fight Night’ card at the Eventim Olympia in Liverpool at late notice.

‘Super’ Sam was dominant throughout against Oscar Amador and dropped him twice before failing to rise from the second knockdown, forcing the referee to step in after one minute and 23 seconds of the second round, exclusively live on iFL TV in the UK and ESPN+ Stateside in association with Top Rank Inc.

Meanwhile, Craig Glover got back to winning ways with a points victory.

The cruiserweight, who was stopped inside two rounds by former David Price opponent Vaclav Pejsar back in March, was in against Jiri Svacina and cruised to a 60-54 decision.

The plan now for the 28-year-old to get back into potential title contention, with the winner of Richard Riakporhe’s fight against Chris Billam-Smith firmly in his sights.

Riakporhe meets Billam-Smith in a defence of his WBA Inter-Continental cruiserweight crown on July 20, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN Stateside, at the O2 Arena in London, as part of the supporting cast to Dillian Whyte’s crunch heavyweight clash against Oscar Rivas.

And Terry Flanagan, Manchester’s former WBO world lightweight champion, got back to winning ways after a nine-month hiatus.

The man who outpointed Derry Mathews at the ECHO Arena back in 2016 lost to Regis Prograis in the quarter-final of the World Boxing Super Series tournament last October and was on the comeback trail against Jonas Segu.

The Tanzanian visitor was out of his depth from start to finish against the man who is coming back down to lightweight after a stint up at 10-stone and the fight came to an end after just 25 seconds of the fifth round.

Flanagan unleashed a body shot which creased Segu in his own corner and led to the referee, John Latham, calling a halt to proceedings.
