Opening the 'L.A. Fight Club' card, featherweight Emilio Sanchez (7-0, 6 KOs) dropped Luis Cosme three times in the first round in route to a technical knockout win. Sanchez dropped Cosme with a barrage of punches, followed by a right hand to the head. Cosme got up, but was dropped to a knee courtesy of a left hook. Cosme tried to fight back, but was dropped a third time by a left hook to the body. Referee Raul Caiz, Jr. waved the fight over at 2:00.

In the televised opener, 23-year old Irish Super Middleweight Jason Quigley (3-0, 3 KO), 165 ½, of Woodland Hills, California, used a left hook and right hand to drop 38-year old Greg McCoy (3-4-1, 1 KO), 165, of New Haven, Connecticut. McCoy made no effort to rise as referee Mike Marvell tolled the count, halting the action at 2:39 of round one. The card was broadcast on Fox Sports1, promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.

But if you are a native of the Emerald Isle competing in the United States, fighting in Massachusetts may be as close as you can get to a home game. “Without a doubt, and I think nobody knows it more than myself,” Quigley, who faces Thomas Gifford tonight at Memorial Hall in Plymouth (40 miles south of Boston), said. “The feedback that I’ve been getting from people that I know in Boston has been unbelievable, and I’m a long way from home over here in America and I know when I’m fighting in Boston it will be just like fighting back in my hometown.”

Donegal's Ireland's Jason Quigley will continue his professional career with a featured appearance on "Monster Brawl", a co-promotion between Golden Boy Promotions and Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys, the third such collaboration in the greater Boston area. Thursday, Oct. 30 at Plymouth Memorial Hall in Plymouth, Mass., Quigley will open the televised portion of the FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes broadcast. Despite his two-fight professional resume, Quigley (2-0, 2 KOs) is becoming known as a fighter to watch. The first Irish fighter to win a silver medal at the World Amateur Championships last year, Quigley was recently signed by Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions and has moved his training operations to Los Angeles to take advantage of the outstanding sparring and world-class trainers in Southern California.
StubHub Center, Carson, California - Former champion Jorge Linares (37-3, 24KOs) moved one step closer to a lightweight title shot with a second round battering of Ira Terry (26-12, 16KOs). Linares had Terry in all sorts of trouble in the first round, and finished him off early in the second with hard punches, including huge straight right, to put Terry down hard and he required assistance just to get back to his feet.
