The World Boxing Super Series is delighted to announce that two more undefeated fighters have signed up for the Muhammad Ali Trophy, The Greatest Prize in Boxing. Erik Skoglund (26-0, 12 KOs) and Jamie Cox (22-0, 12 KOs) have joined a star-studded tournament line-up that already features four reigning world champions and two former world champions. The duo will compete in the super-middleweight competition, with WBA Super Champion George Groves among the potential opponents.
Bramall Lane, Sheffield - Making his debut for Matchroom Sport, super middleweight contender Jamie Cox (22-0) won a nine round technical unanimous decision over Lewis Taylor. The fight was stopped in the ninth, by the decision of the ringside doctor, because of a cut suffered by Taylor from an accidental head clash. The scores were 88-83, 88-83 and 87-84 for Cox. The win gives Cox the vacant WBA intercontinental championship.
Lewis Taylor is handed a wonderful opportunity on May 27th when he tackles Swindon's highly regarded, Jamie Cox, for the WBA Intercontinental title at super middleweight. The unlikely chance has been delivered by manager, Dave Coldwell, and the winner is likely to find himself in a lucrative spot with further title shots against the division's leading names a real possibility.
Jamie Cox will face Lewis Taylor for the WBA Inter-Continental Super-Middleweight title on his Matchroom Boxing debut at Bramall Lane in Sheffield on Saturday May 27, live on Sky Sports Box Office. Cox signed a promotional deal with Eddie Hearn last month and is set to meet Rocky Fielding this summer as mandatory challenger for the British Super-Middleweight title.
Jamie Cox has signed a promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing. The Commonwealth Games winner and former Commonwealth Light-Middleweight champion is gunning for major titles and the 30 year old penned the deal in Liverpool at the Echo Arena where he’s a keen ringside observer tonight.
Jamie Cox has been released from his promotional agreement. The Swindon man (21-0, 12 KOs), who is a former Commonwealth super-welterweight titlist, confirmed the news on social media. Cox, 30, has been out of the ring since last October when he outpointed Martin Fidel Rios over 10 rounds in Bolton.
Super middleweight wrecking ball Jamie Cox has sent a savage warning to Chris Eubank Jr and his team insisting: “I’m ready to go when they want it but the problem is, they don’t want the problem!” The destructive southpaw slammed Eubank’s upcoming choice of opponent:
There were some particularly encouraging performances from our fighters on Saturday night after the BoxNation cameras made a short notice switch from Cardiff to the Whites Hotel at Bolton’s Macron Stadium. It wasn’t in the best interests of a number of our boys to wait until the rescheduled Cardiff date so we took the opportunity to slot them onto a VIP promotions bill broadcast live on the Channel of Champions.
Jamie Cox returned from an 11-month hiatus to get his hands on a belt at Bolton’s Whites Hotel, exclusively live on BoxNation. The Swindon southpaw started fast, arguably wildly and this prompted him to take a right hand from Martin Fidel Rios inside the first ten seconds.
