Jack Massey: record, next fight and profile →
This Friday’s Main Event between Jaron “Boots” Ennis (19-0 17ko) and former USBA, NABO Champion and World Title challenger “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis (26-10-2 13ko) will now be for the WBU WELTERWEIGHT TITLE at the beautiful Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Jack Massey will return to the ring next month. The Chapel-en-le-Frith man, who campaigns at cruiserweight, has been out of the ring since a first-round demolition of Russ Henshaw back in March. But the 24-year-old will make a comeback on October 21, exclusively live on BT Sport and BoxNation, after teaming up with a new managerial outfit. Massey (12-0, 6 KOs) recently left Steve Wood and signed terms with Puerto Banus-based MTK Global.
When Jack Massey has his sixth pro fight at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on October 18, promoter Steve Wood is convinced fans will be watching the UK’s next big cruiserweight star. After winning the ABA championships, Jack turned pro in July last year and has quickly racked up five impressive wins. A skilful technician who can hit hard – evidenced by his debut KO over renowned tough guy Jody Meikle – Derbyshire’s Massey appears to be the full package.
