BILD and BoxSport in Germany reports that former WBA champ Jack Culcay, 33-5 (14 KOs) is bankrupt.

WBA heavyweight champion – regular version that is – Mahmoud Charr (34-4) will defend the title against Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev (30-3) December 7 in Sofia (Bulgaria), writes boxen1.com.

German featherweight Nina Meinke (19-3) won the vacant IBF title on a majority decision over Argentinian Daniela Bermudez (32-5-3) in the headliner of P2M's big show at the Sporthalle in Hamburg. After 12 three-minute rounds the judges had it 118-110, 119-109 and 114-114.

German Agon Sports had a bad week beginning April 6 in Falkensee when Jack Culcay lost to Bakhram Murtazaliev in a fight for the vacant IBF junior middleweight title. This was not an upset, but it was still a bad loss for Culcay and Agon.

There’s something to be said about embracing a me-against-the-world mindset, and now that he has elevated to the level of new IBF junior middleweight titleholder, Bakhram Murtazaliev is here to tell it. How he had to endure four years as a No. 1 contender without receiving a title shot. How, as a Muslim, he was denied the respect of honoring the principles of Ramadan while preparing for his long-awaited title bout. How he was sequestered in a second-rate lodge for two weeks in Germany and was made to feel an unwanted guest as the days neared to his title fight against Germany’s own Jack Culcay on Saturday. In the end, the wait and the patience were worth it.

Bakhram Murtazaliev delivered as expected in winning a vacant IBF junior middleweight belt Saturday at the Stadthalle Falkensee in Falkensee, Germany – but Jack Culcay made him work for every inch of it.

A round up of all the boxing news form across continental Europe.

Bakhram Murtazaliev will have to fight on the road and during Ramadan for his first bid at a major title. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that the vacant IBF junior middleweight title fight between Russia’s Murtazaliev and Germany’s Jack Culcay will take place on April 6 at Stadthalle Falkansee in Berlin.
