Hiroaki Teshigawara: record, next fight and profile →
World Boxing Association (WBA) cruiserweight champion, Frenchman Arsen Goulamirian, has tested positive for Covid-19 and his scheduled defense this Friday against Aleksei Egorov was cancelled.
Murodjon Akhmadaliev will head into 2022 with multiple mandatory title defenses looming ahead. A bout between Marlon Tapales and Hiroaki Teshigawara has been granted approval by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) to serve as a final title eliminator. The bout was already scheduled to take place on the non-televised undercard of a December 11 Showtime tripleheader from Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
As widely expected by many fans in Japan, tough, experienced OPBF super bantamweight champion Hiroaki Teshigawara (22-2-2, 15 KO’s) made a successful 4th defense of his regional oriental belt by stopping in six chapters Japanese compatriot Shingo Kawamura (16-6-4, 8 KO’s) earlier today in the Land of the Rising Sun.
