Eddie Hearn is standing firm on his opinion that WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney has every odd stacked against him this coming weekend.

Haney traveled over to hostile territory to collide with WBA, WBO, IBF champion George Kambosos in a full division unification, on June 5 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. (June 4 in United States).

Haney's father and trainer, Bill Haney, was not allowed to enter Australia due to an old criminal conviction. Haney's corner will be manned by veteran coach Yoel Judah, who is the father of former world champion Zab Judah.

In order to get this opportunity, Haney broke away from Hearn, who promoted his last seven fights, and signed a multi-fight deal with Top Rank.

Despite that, Hearn does not believe Haney has received the proper promotional backing in the contest.

But, Hearn believes Haney will still do enough to secure the victory and walk away with the undisputed lightweight crown.

“You got to respect Devin Haney because he had to take this deal to get this fight. He’s got no promoter and he’s got no help. His dad couldn’t get into the country. This is something you’d expect a promotional company to deal with in that respect. You’ve got a depleted corner, and he’s in George Kambosos’ backyard," Hearn told IFL TV.

“Devin is very strong mentally. So, all those things I mentioned, I don’t see him being affected by all of that. My worry is that Kambosos’ work rate and the noise of the crowd will allow him to win and steal rounds. I believe Devin Haney will win the fight, and hopefully, he can get the decision. I love George and respect him, but obviously, I’m rooting for Devin Haney.”
