Promoter Eddie Hearn is not in agreement with the recent statements that were made by WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
In a recent interview, Fury explained that Deontay Wilder is the second best heavyweight in the weight class.
He made a bold prediction, that Wilder would destroy both Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte in one round.
"Wilder beats Joshua, Whyte, Miller. Are you joking? The Bronze Bomber, one touch on their faces and they’re gone forever. Goodnight forever. He’d do to Whyte and Joshua what he did to Breazeale. He will put them to sleep, easy. They’ve got no defence and walk down punches. What are they going to do? Walk him down with no footwork? You won’t walk a man like that down, he’ll punch holes in you," Fury told IFL TV.
"They will be 44 and 45 on his record. I’d definitely back Wilder to knock the pair out."
Back in February, Fury stopped Wilder in seven rounds to capture the WBC title.
He will face Wilder in a trilogy fight by the end of the year.
Hearn, who promotes both Whyte and Joshua, has no idea when Fury is actually being serious with his statements.
But regardless on the intent, he feels confident that both of his men would handle Wilder in brutal fashion.
"You can’t take what Tyson says [seriously]. Most of the time he’s just having a laugh. He’s just trying to provoke a reaction. If that’s what he thinks, maybe he’s right. I don’t think he’s right. I think Dillian Whyte destroys Deontay Wilder and I think AJ absolutely takes him to school and knocks him out with ease in a couple of rounds," Hearn said.
"But he’s dangerous and Tyson Fury done a great job dismantling him. Hopefully he does the same in the rematch."
