Maxime Beaussire (25-1-1) won the vacant EU 154 lb title on Friday night in Calais with a one punch second round knockout over Joffrey Jacob (16-1-1) in a heated all French matchup. Beaussire landed with a right hook and it was all over. Beaussire is now trained by former EBU champ Frank Nicotra and is now back on track after an upset loss to Zakaria Attou earlier this year.

During the press conference held earlier today by the World Boxing Association, where they discussed the 94th Convention and the next edition of KO To Drugs, WBA Vice President Gilberto Mendoza discussed the current status of former champion Guillermo Jones (39-3-2, 31KOs). Jones has been allowed by the WBA to return to the ring "with a number of conditions." The boxer was suspended after testing positive twice for the banned substance Furosemide - both times in connection with the Denis Lebedev bout.
