Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is working very hard to finalize the remaining details for a fall showdown between British middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18KOs) and WBC/IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

Eubank was in action this past Saturday night when he stopped previously undefeated Tom Doran (17-1, 7KOs) in the fourth round.  Doran went down four times in the contest.

Eubank Jr. showed his speed and accuracy at the star. Doran was not intimidated and did well in spots, but Eubank Jr. was landing very clean shots. In the third round, Eubank really picked up the pace with big punches to the head and body. Doran eventually went down from a barrage of punches. He beat the count, but Eubank was now just looking for the finish with big shots flying with both hands.

During the fourth, series of body shots sent Doran down for a second time. Once again Doran got up and he was crushed by more shots that sent him down a third time. After another series of shots, Doran went down for a fourth time and the fight was waved off.

Now the biggest fight of Eubank's career is being negotiated and currently the father-son combo are unhappy with the upside money from the Sky Sports Pay-Per-View.

Hearn is still a bit in shock that Eubank and his father are pressing so hard to face Golovkin and aims to get everything wrapped up this week.

"This is a fight that many people struggle to get their heads around, " Hearn, Eubank Jr's promoter, told Sky Sports News HQ.  "You've got a young, upcoming, world quality operator in Chris Eubank Jr, who is willing and prepared to take on the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world and the most dangerous fighter on the planet, in Gennady Golovkin.

"I am waiting for the Eubanks to turn round and say we're not serious, it's just for a bit of press and PR. They are deadly serious and we took another major step to that fight now, and I believe this fight will be made this week, I really do.

"The danger is that everybody talks about fighting people, you've seen Golovkin was supposed to fight Canelo, Canelo decided to swerve that fight. Billy Joe Saunders has been linked, he swerved the Golovkin fight. I don't blame them, no elite fighter wants to fight Golovkin apart from Chris Eubank Jr.  It will be one of the biggest fights in this country and when was the last time a name like Golovkin came and defended three belts. It's unheard of and they (Eubanks) really believe they can win the fight.

"I know they want the fight and I know Golovkin will take the fight. It will be my job in the next 48-72 hours to get that closed off and produce another huge event."
