Golovkin vs. Derevyanchenko - CompuBox Punch Stats

Madison Square Garden, New York City - Gennady Golovkin had the edge in total landed (243-230) and jabs landed (107-47), while Sergiy Derevyanchenko had the 183-136 edge in power landed, throwing 472 to 314 for GGG.

Derevyancehnko had a 50-22 edge in body shots landed. Dere's 230 landed total punches and 183 landed power punches were the most by a GGG opponent in 25 of his fights tracked by CompuBox.


For the vacant IBF, IBO middleweight titles, Gennadiy Golovkin (40-1-1, 35 KOs) was tested tough and some felt he was on his way to a loss, but he pulled out a close twelve round unanimous decision over Sergiy Derevyanchenko (13-2, 10 KOs). The scores were 114-113, 115-112, 115-112.

Lol wow...looking at those punch stats after round 2 kind of sums it up for me...had many close rounds that were hard to call...felt SD was the better man but my card edged it to GGG
