After fighting just once in 2022 – a sixth-round KO win against Rolando Romero – Gervonta “Tank” Davis wants to increase the frequency at which he enters the ring in 2023.

Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) already has two tilts scheduled on the docket.

The first is set to take place Jan. 7 against Hector Luis Garcia at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. on Showtime pay per view.

Should he remain victorious, the 28-year-old Baltimore-bred knockout artist has already agreed to fight Ryan Garcia in a 136-pound catchweight bout, a fight tentatively scheduled to take place April 15.

That would mean Davis would have eight-plus months to find himself a third fight for the calendar year – and he’s planning on it.

Now that Davis is no longer tied to Mayweather Promotions, he plans on entertaining offers from all comers. Just don’t expect him to be the one doing the callouts.

“You know how people come out and say they want to fight someone. Them guys are saying that on Twitter and y'all run with it. If they mean it, send a contract – do that. Send a contract,” Davis said in a Twitter Spaces conversation hosted by @LazyLeftyOG. “I didn't ask for none of them guys. I never asked for one opponent – not one. I still don't ask for an opponent.”

Davis didn’t mention any fighter by name as to who’s calling him out, but when it was brought to his attention that he was the WBA “regular” lightweight champion and Devin Haney was the undisputed lightweight champion who’s also holding the WBA “super” title, and the fight could be arranged between them, an irritated Davis declared: “Tell the WBA to order the fight. Tell them to do it! Why are you talking to me about it?”

When Davis was pressed on who his desired third dance partner of the year would be, he said, “I got two opponents in mind.”

When asked who, Davis said “you know who.”

When Shakur Stevenson and Haney were the two names that were suggested, Davis said “got it.”

Davis was also asked to rank the likes of Garcia, Haney, and Stevenson. He remained coy with his response.

“They cool. That's it. I don't rank anybody,” said Davis.
