Gervonta Davis and Yuriorkis Gamboa met for their last press conference before their fight this Saturday in Atlanta. The American and the Cuban will be matched for the vacant lightweight title of the World Boxing Association (WBA) and this Thursday they were face to face with the press to comment on their expectations for the scheduled confrontation.

The event also had Jean Pascal and Badou Jack, who will clash for the WBA "regular" light heavyweight title on the undercard.

This official weigh-in will take place this Friday, in which both must mark the 135 regulatory pounds of the division to be enabled for the title clash.

Gamboa, an Olympic gold medal winner and a former two division champion, feels confident in his advantages to win the fight.

“Gervonta knocking his opponents out and not going past the ninth round is great for him, but I don’t think it has anything to do with my resume. I’ve faced stronger fighters than Gervonta and I’ve been able to beat them. He’s not going to bring anything I haven’t seen," Gamboa said.

“We’re thrilled that the fight landed in Atlanta and we can tell you that the fans are going to be very happy with the fight they see Saturday. I came here to win and I’m definitely ready to go all 12 rounds if I have to.

“I’ve had a great training camp and I know what I’m able to give on Saturday. I’m giving my all and then some. Atlanta, be ready. We’re going to give you a war.”

Davis has a record of 22 wins, no losses and 21 knockouts. Gamboa comes to the fight with 30 wins, 2 setbacks and 18 knockouts.
