An arrest warrant has been issued for Gervonta “Tank” Davis stemming from an October complaint accusing the WBA lightweight titleholder of domestic violence, police in Miami Gardens, Florida, announced on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old Davis, a Baltimore native who now lives in Florida, has been charged with false imprisonment, battery and attempted kidnapping following an alleged incident on October 27 involving ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel at the gentlemen’s club where she worked as a cocktail server.

"At this time, the Miami Gardens Police Department is actively working with the United States Marshals’ fugitive task force to locate and apprehend Mr. Davis," Miami Gardens executive officer Emmanuel Jeanty said at a press conference, according to ESPN.

The criminal charges follow a civil suit filed by Rossel which details an alleged incident where, in the early morning hours, Davis is accused of attacking Rossel in a back room where there were no cameras present, grabbing her by the back of her head, pulling her with one hand and holding her throat with the other hand. Rossel said that Davis then dragged her through a stairwell and through a back exit, where she was physically assaulted in the parking lot.

Rossel, who had been in a relationship with Davis before breaking it off a month prior to the alleged incident, reportedly sustained bruises on her left arm.

"The investigation determined that Mr. Davis used force to restrain in an attempt to remove the victim from the location against her will," Jeanty said in the press briefing.

Davis, 30-0-1 (28 KOs), has not fought since his majority draw against Lamont Roach in March of 2025. An exhibition match with Jake Paul, which would have been a lucrative opportunity to perform on Netflix, was canceled two weeks before its scheduled date due to the lawsuit filed by Rossel.
