Carl Froch is out to prove he is the best of British on Saturday night.

NEW YORK CITY -- WBC Super Middleweight Champion Carl “The Cobra” Froch and former World Champion Glen “The Road Warrior” Johnson and their respective camps held their final press conference Wednesday at the Edison Ballroom in New York City to discuss their Super Six World Boxing Classic Semifinal at the Adrian Phillips Ballroom at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Saturday, June 4 and televised LIVE on SHOWTIME at 9 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast).

Cocky Carl Froch, England’s boxing star who yearns for superstardom at home and abroad, played the part at a press conference Wednesday at the Edison Hotel Ballroom in midtown Manhattan which hyped his Showtime super middleweight tournament bout Saturday night against Glen “Road Warrior” Johnson.

Former light heavyweight world champion Antonio Tarver is backing WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch to beat Glen Johnson in the semi-finals of the Super Six tournament on Saturday night in Atlantic City. Tarver fought Johnson twice, going 1-1 with the 42-year-old veteran. Tarver believes Froch has the much better ability and the inner determination to win. He doesn't pick Froch to beat Andre Ward in the final bout of the Super Six, but he does give him a very good chance of getting the upset.

Glen “The Road Warrior” Johnson is inspired by the recent victory by Bernard Hopkins, who at 46-years-old defeated Jean Pascal to capture the WBC light heavyweight title. This Saturday in Atlantic City, Johnson, 42-years-old, will challenger World Boxing Council (WBC) super middleweight Champion Carl “The Cobra” Froch in the Super Six semi-finals. The winner of Froch (27-1, 20 KOs) vs. Johnson (51-14-2, 35 KOs) will advance to the tournament final to face World Boxing Association (WBA) champion Andre Ward.

WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch is focused on his strategy to defeat Glen Johnson in the Super Six semi-finals. WBA champion Andre Ward is already in the finals and waiting for the winner of next Saturday's fight, which takes place in Atlantic City. Froch felt that he dominated Andre Dirrell in the first stage of the Super Six, and also made easy work of Arthur Abraham in the third stage. He credits Mikkel Kessler with giving him a tough encounter in the second stage. Kessler won a close decision over Froch but later withdrew from the Super Six with an eye injury.

Nicknamed "The Road Warrior" for his in-your-face style, durability, fundamental foundation and willingness to fight any opponent at any time and any place, 42-year-old Jamaican-born, former light heavyweight world champion, Glen Johnson of Miami spoke to BoxingScene.com recently concerning his June 4, Atlancit City clash with England's WBC king Carl Froch.

By Jake Donovan - It might be Glen Johnson whom is often referred to as boxng’s ultimate road warrior, but if there’s a fighter over the past two years who is more deserving of the honor, it’s Carl Froch. The pride of Nottingham, England will fight in his fourth country in as many fights when he faces Johnson next Saturday at the Adrian Philips Ballroom in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It will also mark his first bout in the United States since his thrilling come-from-behind knockout of Jermain Taylor more than two years ago. He is now one win away from advancing to the finals and for the past year or so has rated no worse than in the Top Three amongst the best super middleweights. Yet it won’t be until the final bell of next weekend’s bout when Froch finally earns the long overdue respect from the boxing world. Why that remains the case is anybody’s guess. Perhaps it’s his fighting style, which is no-nonsense, dig deep and find a way to win, no matter whom against and how he gets the job done. It worked on the night he captured his first major belt, outpointing then-unbeaten Jean Pascal in their December 2008 thriller for a vacant super middleweight bout.

As England's WBC super middleweight king Carl Froch see it, he still has not received the respect that he so richly deserves.
