LEEDS, ENGLAND – It is almost a year to the day since Gary Cully suffered the first professional defeat of his career when he was taken out inside three rounds by Jose Felix.

FireLake Arena in Shawnee, Oklahoma - Lightweight contender Keyshawn Davis (9-0, 6 KOs) passed the stiffest test of his career in beating Belgian contender Francesco Patera (28-4, 10 KOs) with a ten round unanimous decision by scores of 100-89 2x and 99-90.

Keyshawn Davis had his moments while he went 10 rounds for the first time in his developing career Saturday night. Davis dropped Francesco Patera in the eighth round and landed more than enough power punches, particularly in the second half of their lightweight fight, to impress the judges. Mike Bower (100-89) and David Sutherland (100-89) scored it a shutout for the Olympic silver medalist, who won nine rounds according to judge Josef Mason (99-90).

Maxi Hughes smiled and promised to sabotage George Kambosos Jr.’s return to the ring as they walked away from each other Friday afternoon. Moments earlier, Kambosos and Hughes both came in beneath the lightweight limit for their 12-round, 135-pound fight Saturday night in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Australia’s Kambosos (20-2, 10 KOs) stepped on the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission’s scale at 134.6 pounds, slightly lighter than England’s Hughes (26-5-2, 5 KOs), who officially weighed 134.7.
