Yeah the impermanence of the world weighs upon one. What we love, we have and then one day we don't have... Is it God that takes our heart? or is it free will? God would protect us in the garden, but we wanted that dangerous reckless thing called freedom, which includes the freedom to feel danger and heart ache, in exchange for the chance to really love, to experience a small fraction of what the Most High created us out of (Love).
We pay for the ticket... and so we take the ride.
