But yeah Khans success was massive for the scene over here.
Audleys success did t really have the same impact and the amateur funding in this country was a joke circa 2004. It really was khan's popularity that brought money into the system.

We still don't quite match Cuba, Kazakhstan and Ukraine in the amateur stakes but we're getting there.

We're no worse than Ukraine these days. In fairness we are handicapped against Cuba, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and a few others because their boxers stay amateur for longer, often forever, whereas our squad is almost fully turned over after every Olympic cycle. If the cream of u26 boxing talent in the UK were available to the amateur squad we'd undoubtedly get a lot more medals. This is also true for the USA of course

Very good point actually. We do have a pretty quick turn over.

The US squad hasn't been filled with depth for the entirety of this century. Europe and Asia are leagues ahead at this point.

                  AJ is the best heavyweight
                  Bellew is the best cruiser
Degale is the best super middle
Campbell arguably beat the best 135 pounder
Champions at feather, bantam and super fly

How did the U.K. end up with so many top fighters all of a sudden
Hw is super weak division. Aj just went life and death with a 40 year old coming off 2 bad showings

Bellew is clearly nowhere near the best cw

                  Degale lost to badou jack

Linares won and campbell lost to mendy

Yafai weakest belt holder in division

                  Tete beats overrated burnett

                  And selby is declining

                  Its hype.

Youre dealing with fans in a poll with a fairly large sample who say yes to this:
