Deontay Wilder retained his WBC heavyweight title in impressive fashion, knocking Dominic Breazeale out in the first round on Saturday. Wilder recorded the 40th knockout of his career just two minutes, 17 seconds into the fight at Barclays Center in New York. Wilder (41-0-1) started well and capitalised, landing the decisive blow quickly against his mandatory challenger and fellow American.

Lol huh? He didn't get up in time.

How long did he want a 20 count?

He got to his feet at the 8 count

Then the ref pushed him into the ropes making it look like he staggered

Maybe he should’ve been given a chance instead of a twitchy ref gettin caught up

The man is concussed so can't really blame him. Props to him for getting up as quickly as he did. Thought he was going to be down for like a minute the way he fell down lol.

You need to be standing up by the count of ten, not in the process of getting up. He was not standing up by ten.

Dude, you did not beat the count. You were not up before the count of ten.

Besides, once you got up the referee had to hold you, in order to break your fall because you were heading back down to the canvass again.

However, the ref and the ropes held you up. Wilder could have seriously injured you. You were in no shape, form or condition to continue fighting once you were up because your legs were like spaghetti by that time.
