So why the hate for Salido?

same as why all the others get criticized...

    either...

    1) genuine lack of appreciation for the game
    2) genuine lack of knowledge for the game
    3) Salido is a useful bat for the anti-Loma brigade

that list is in no particular order, I see #3 happen a lot

Salido was basic, and he learned his craft on the job... but the guy was about as tough as you can get, and a real handful for anyone

the Loma thing was shocking matchmaking, Arum cut corners

Arum cut corners... because he 100% KNEW that Loma was special... but... FACT: you do not cut corners in boxing, because there are PLENTY of big tough veteran speed-bumps in this game

    Q. trying to build a star, preparing his second fight... who do you NOT select... who would be the WORST opponent for a 1-fight rookie?

    A. you do not select a... TOUGH... HARD... VETERAN... one who will definitely be there for 12 HARD rounds... and especially not a tough hard veteran who could easily come in overweight

read that description... and then look who they picked

Arum counted on Lomachenko's next-level skillset to carry him through... and don't forget, it nearly did... but you do not cut corners in boxing

    Arum blew it

I get that they were confident, and I get that they had high aspirations... but they should have waited 12-18 months before taking on all comers, and let Loma settle into his work as a pro... the corner they cut was too sharp, plain and simple

name me one fighter who would beat salido in his second fight, and show me on boxrec or with a video why you think so.

i'd actually challenge you to find me a tougher opponent for a fighter's second fight in the last 10 years. the best recent example is literally connor mcgregor, whose fame got him a shot against an aging but still great floyd mayweather in his pro debut. mcgregor, of course, hardly won a round. lomachenko had salido figured out by round 12 and was starting to beat him up.
Sorry to say Lomo had more than two professional fights no matter how slick they are with marketing. He fought and was paid several times before his top rank debut.

With that being said he took a loss and he showed me something that night. What he showed me was he had the dog in him which is what separates him from most of his contemporaries.

I don’t fall into the hype and all the bob arum espn hbo antics when it comes to beige fighters. Lomo has the intangibles to go along with a great skill set period so to learn it doesn’t matter if he lost to Salido.

      No Salido is not
a good boxer but a damn good fighter which has its place in the sport. Salido also had a lot of experience and he used every bit of it against Lomo.

        OP.

        Short answer.

**********, ahem, black and mexican people hate Lomachenko because his skin is white. As an Asian guy who is also a minority they make all of us look like ****ing garbage playing victim or actually playing their stereotype.

Most of these boxing fans ar just causals who love to play the race game. Look at how they all hoard together behind fighters of their color instead if the ****ing sport they watch.

Like why did Lomachenko deserve a title shot in his2nd fight. It's because hes WHITE! But of course they cant say thay out loud because they're racists! Which they are.

By belittling Salido it makes Lomachenko so much worse I their eyes. Devin Haney, their new 20 year old paper champ boogeyman who Lomachenko is ducking is now lurking about lmfao.

And they call Lomachenko fans shook when Devin hasnt fought someone even on Salido level.

you guys are petulant and frankly completely clueless. adn the agenda is clear as day.
You are aware he literally pushed Arum for that fight and actually wanted his first fight up be for a title? His mouth wrote a check his ass couldn't cash. Simple.

Salido is a true warrior. He's also Lomachenko's Papi.

I always like Salido myself, but, he isn't good enough to go to bat for.

I am curious how guys like Chisora get that "Sure, he's not an all time great, but, he is really good and a fun fighter to watch" label.

I got told the other day Margarito was a boring fighter I loved Marg's **** myself. Not guy who's gonna make a run at names like Nonpariel on the greatness scale, but, proper fun warrior.

I'd say the same about Orlando. Not the guy to hang yer hat on for an ATG convo, but, definitely a guy you want to watch fight because he'll probably give you a hell of a show.

Inversely, I never understood how defensive skills are boring. Floyd's whole defense king thing was undisputed. Even at the height of the Pac beef even the worst Pac haters gave Floyd his defensive measures, but, somehow, some way, that **** is boring to a lot of people?

I don't care who you are, you're just wrong.
