name me one fighter who would beat salido in his second fight, and show me on boxrec or with a video why you think so.

i'd actually challenge you to find me a tougher opponent for a fighter's second fight in the last 10 years. the best recent example is literally connor mcgregor, whose fame got him a shot against an aging but still great floyd mayweather in his pro debut. mcgregor, of course, hardly won a round. lomachenko had salido figured out by round 12 and was starting to beat him up.
comparing mcgregor to Loma is insane..Loma had over 300 am fights, was a 2 time gold medalist..actually had what 10 fights before "officially" turning pro that were pro fights and was 26 not some kid like most people in their 2nd fights

I love the guy, why do you make all encompassing statements. He is awesome.

      some people vs people

I am in the people who feel he is a true mexican warrior. win lose or draw. he is a known and proven battler.

boxrec fans, f#ggots, whatever you'd like to call them.

salido was slow and predictable but he made up for it with very good power, a very good chin when he was at his peak, and a very rough style. won him a lot of fights, and kept him in the running against bigger, younger, more talented fighters. he won several world titles.

here are the real reasons to not like orlando salido:
failed a drug test to beat robert guerrero.
very dirty fighter. uses his head as a part of his aresenal. broke mikey's nose so f#cking blatantly with a headbutt. low blows. holding while he hits, one of the dirtiest fighters of the era.

2nd fight or not thats on loma...if he was up for the glory and praise a W would have brought he should have been prepared equally for an L...loma knew the risks...loma felt he was so superbly skilled it wouldnt matter and it backfired

you forget that he got a title shot in his 2nd pro fight...so what does that tell you? he had strings being pulled for him....tell me what happens when someone else gets a quick title shot? people complain and say "what has he done to deserve it"?

loma deserves everything he gets for the L...because he would have taken everything for the victory and knew exactly what he was getting himself into

mikey was the same age as loma when he fought salido...and dominated him

He wasn't bad. Dirty yes, but not a bad fighter.

Personally I thought he should've won the 2nd fight with Roman Martinez.

                why?

do you know how many guys have 300 amateur fights and fight salido in their second fight? none . again, name me these other fighters who have come close in fight 1 and 2 to that level of opponent! connor mcgregor is in the same conversation because he fought a world champion [actually a hall of famer and a legend,] in his debut.

most of your favorite fighters were off of TV and fighting four rounders in their second fight!

how often do you guys go to fights? answer me honestly. do you go to many boxing matches each year? do they even have pro boxing in your area? how many fighters have you seen in their debuts? in four rounders? i live next two two of the largest casinos in the country, foxwoods and mohegan in CT. i had media credentials for years and i covered fights on espn, showtime, hbo, and local new england and new york tv. club fights. amateur fights. you name it. i put in a lot of work in the late 2000's and early 10's, i basically didn't miss a local fight.

most of you are completely unfamiliar with what happens in boxing off of TV, and that's fine. just know that there's a period of years and 10-20 fights that most of the guys who make it to TV go through where they are not good enough to make it onto your TV and where the orlando salido's of the world will beat their f#cking asses and end their careers! but in 3-4 years, once they mature, and once they get around 20 fights under their belts they are ready. that's just how this sport works. little guys are moved quickly because they age fast. and big guys are moved slowly because they fill out over time. power is more important in their divisions and the body and bone density isn't fully developed until the mid 20's.

i've seen dozens, if not hundreds of fighters debut, from ringside, with my own eyes. unless you're literally searching the internet consistently for debuts i doubt you've even seen that many on the internet! men, women, 18 year old kids with a pedigree, ham and eggers who will lose their debut and never fight again, etc. almost all of them look like fish out of water in fight 1. i can close my eyes and listen to the floorboards of the ring and tell you if they've got more than 5 fights .

none of them ahve come close to being as complete as vasyl lomachenko in fight #2. and even HE lost to orlando salido! it's not an indictment of f#cking anything! it was his second fight. he'd have beaten roberto duran in fight 2!

                and belive me
                just f3Cking believe me dude
floyd mayweather would never fight orlando salido in his second fight or go 12 rounds! and if he did he would have taken a f#cking beating. and like lomachenko, it wouldn't mean a f#cking thing. in 20 fights he'd toy with salido, but he wouldn't even fight him in his second.

in 11 fights lomachenko was arguably the best pound for pound fighter on the planet, just for some perspective. floyd mayweather's 9th fight was against a 1 and 13 opponent in a six round fight. hopkins fought a six rounder against a guy who was 1 and 9. jone's opponent in his 9th fight was 0 and 2. see what i mean?

was mcregor's debut against an aged floyd closer to lomachenko's, or jones'? was mcregor's debut closer to jone's 9th opponent, or lomachenko's second fight?

so go ahead and tell me why i'm wrong. just sayng i'm wrong doesnt' do it with me.

you guys are incredibly out of touch and this genuinely isn't worth my time. a non english speaking fighter with no pro success on a rookie contract isn't dictating who he fights. a matchmaker and a promoter do that.

you guys are petulant and frankly completely clueless. adn the agenda is clear as day.

He was a good level of fighter. Tough, experienced and would basically do whatever it took to win. He was involved in some wars too, so was fun to watch.
