There are lots of mango varieties here in zambo but top of the list is still carabao mango. There's manga caballo, apple mango, indian mango, manga puki, manga chupadera, manga mexicano to name a few. Manga mexicano is a mango as big as buko BTW.

The best tasting Philippine mango is actually the Piko cultivar. Unfortunately, it is not grown commercially and ripens very fast after harvest hence not viable to export.

The next best in taste is the carabao mango cultivars. There are many varieties of this cultivar and the most popular commercially are the GES 73, GES 77, GES 84, GES 85, talaban.

There is however, a carabao mango that is now becoming popular among mango orchard growers, and that is the "sweet elena" variety of the carabao mango. It was adjudged by UP and Guinness Book of Record as the sweetest carabao mango in the world some years back.

I grow more than 2,000 trees of the sweet elena variety in my Montalban farm.
