Wait people are saying that? Connor tagged him with those lefts, which were heavy and look flashy and like one or two uppercuts, but Nate was jabbing him and landing back too. The diaz facial tissue curse made him look beat up but at most it was like 65-35 round.

And the second round, Connor was just lucky he got taped rather then KTFO which would have hurt the brand worse.

but but but Conor won Rd 1 lmfao! Had Diaz had a training camp and was sparring, Conor may have landed half the shots he did and Diaz wouldve found his range sooner. Conor broke, mentally and physically. Let this be a lesson to fight fans, never fanboy a guy named CONOR for crying out loud.

He won the first round easily. He landed at least 7-8 flush left hands. None of it matters because really he was going to get KOed. He took Nate down because he was hurt.

This is all going off of memory of the live fight. I've heard other fight "experts" say they thought Connor was going to stop Nate after the first round. So I'm not alone

Idk about 90% of the fight, but I gave him the first round & I thought he was winning the 2nd round til the last 30 seconds or so when the tide started drastically changing so it might be 90%-ish give or take. I mean just look at Nate's face. Nate for sure looked like the loser.

I wouldn't say its an MMA thing. This is a thing boxing & MMA got in common. You can win every second of the fight up til you get KO'd (or tap out in MMA) & lose the fight.

Lets not get crazy now. I'm a fan of both these guys first off, but Diaz isn't a cat known for his slipping punches skills. Diaz only got hit slightly more in this fight probably then he's been getting hit vs this caliber of opponent as of recently. He's not exactly Sweet Pea Whitaker. He's got more of a Gatti defense.

Anything can happen in boxing same as anything can happen in MMA. It's just that MMA is much easier to make silly mistakes.

I compare McGregor/Diaz to Northcutt/Barbarena, honestly. Felt like deja vu. Except that Diaz was able to properly apply his submission.
Correct on all points!! Green k.

Dang... Imagine if Diaz wasn't partying in Mexico like a rock start, had a senmi decent training camp... Can you imagine???

Pacquiao didn't win any percent of the Marquez fight, cause he got KO'ed. There is no "winning" anything when you get KTFO, or lose by submission. Just my opinion.
Yes, you get KO'd you lose the fight. Doesn't negate that you might have won rounds up until that point.

                    That's called an upset.

Holly Holm was upset by Miesha Tate. Not because Holm was the champion, but because she was winning on rounds until she got choked out. It was an unexpected ending. Doesn't negate that Holm was schooling Tate for 3 of the 5 rounds.

Manny Pacquiao was winning on rounds until Marquez got frustrated and put the boy to sleep. There are no questions about the KO, but it can't be refuted that had the KO not happened, Manny was on his way to a UD.

Conor got caught. It happens. Doesn't negate that he took the first round, though he didn't look anywhere near as dominant in the upper weight class.

As a response to Conor's loyal fans who say things like Diaz got lucky, the haters are also being ridiculous by acting like Conor had nothing in this fight. Both sides are wrong.

Conor won the first round, yes Diaz cuts easily but you still need to hit him hard and repeatedly. Not every opponent of his damaged his face that much. Conor hit him with some shots that would have finished others. And in the second round he was also getting the best of the exchanges, I find that he was winning that round too and that the turning point(Diaz landing the 1-2) where he got hurt and went for the TD happened very quickly.

Also the size, yes some people overrate the size difference but the ones acting like they are the same size are also wrong, it's not that simple. Diaz has weighed in at 177 and more recently at 160, missing weight on both. Furthermore he has fought at a higher weight for a long time taking shots from much bigger fighters whereas Conor is not used to giving and receiving the hits at this weight. Even the knees to the body buckled him, Nate is no Muay Thai specialist.

Both guys are finishers, Diaz set his finish up quicker at an opportune moment. I would love to see a rematch at some point at 155, with Conor fighting more of a points fight as a counter striker, conserving his stamina and keeping the fight standing. Then I can see him beating Diaz.
