that is the way the world of fights go even if this isnt the way you think,
you just have to accept it because it happens; (happened time and time again).

it has always been this way, which is why after a very close fight, the belt always goes back to the champion.

the way i saw the fight, machida prepared a 1-2 backward stepping defense against shoguns 1-2 and occasionally 3 step forward attack which accounted for the leg hits, not even mentioning the factor of leg length and fighting style stance of rua.

not for nothing but you should stop the copy/paste of this post. i have seen the same post several times by you. ok we get your point even though its not good and your part of the 1% of people that think machida won.

I thought it should at least have been 3-2 for Shogun. I thought he won rounds 1, 2, and 5 for sure. Round 4 i for sure thought Lyoto won and round 3 was super close but i barley gave it to Lyoto because he had a nice combo.

Don't be a dumbass. Has Whitaker ever lost a fight? Yeah, so big deal. Just because he lost (even though he won according to the judges) doesn't mean he's a fraud. Most of the great boxers have lost at least one fight.

This is the kind of stupid ass response that I hate. Machida is all hype right? Okay, so that means Shogun sucks ass too because he just "beat" a bum.

I always hate to see bad decisions but it's not the fault of the fighters. Machida is still a really good fighter. Losing to a guy like Shogun is not embarrassing.

clear victory for Shogun, even though it wasn't pretty. Machida looked uncomfortable after the second. He never quite figured out how to attack Rua. Rua basically won on leg kicks.

pretty boring night for the UFC in my opinion. wasn't worth the PPV. I'm only paying if Lesnar is on the card from now on, this is getting ridiculous.

right when you think there's a real champion, they lose. I'm buying into the hype of these fighters.

now that the Machida myth is no longer, what fighter can stay on top?

Reminisce of the Leonard-Hagler fight. Machida did not win that fight but Shogun did not do much to convince us that he should be the next Champ. I had Machida winning 2 (close) rounds.

Shogun did EVERYTHING....all machida done was a few knees when shogun tried to strike...

Shogun won 4 out of the 5 rounds for me.... that was defo a robbery....machidas a great fighter but he lost that....what a shame...

Hopefully there is a rematch, thats the first time ive seen any1 trouble machida

                      third time here.

And to the boxing fanboys, take your one and done philosphy someplace else. You're too stupid to understand the ability to adapt and not man enough to accept defeat.
