Kinda weird situation. You can't win a war so you fly famous people over and get them to give interviews agreeing with you.

I don't follow South American politics, but whenever I hear anything about Argentina it seems they're complaining about the Falklands again or their economy is collapsing again. Seems politicians over there just bring up the Falklands issue to distract from more important problems and try to unite the people enough to vote for them.
