The prosecution isn't saying he didn't do it or that there was lack of evidence. In fact, there is an interview where the prosector who dropped the charges says he believes he did it. The prosecution is saying that his celebrity actually worked against him in this case (bullshlt). They are saying that in this case, if it was a regular Joe Schmoe who had done this, they would also be allowed to forfeit the bond and get 16 hours of community service in exchange for this deal.

"We believe he did what he was charged with doing," he said. "This was not an exoneration. To say he was exonerated by us or anyone else is not true."

He said charges are dropped in thousands of cases, but Smollett's case is getting scrutinized because he is a celebrity.

"There are plenty of other cases ... over 5,700 that have gotten some type of alternative or deferred type of prosecution involving a dismissal at the end of the case," he said. "To think that there is some type of infirmity or something that we learned about the case or something that we don't want aired is not true."

Though I do think that because this case was so publicized due to him being a celeb, there is more of an interest and more people want to see it go through the court system. However, more than a few experts have said this doesn't seem common at all, and I have serious doubts that this would have been offered to Joe Shmoe. But that's just my humble opinion.

Smollet attended the completely random (what with all the lynchings we've been having lately) "anti-lynching" rally of some corrupt leftist politicians who were promoting an anti-lynching bill to kickstart a presidential campaign.

He was "lynched" just in time for the bill to pass & the presidential campaign to be formally announced, caught orchestrating a hoax, then all charges were inexplicably dropped after a member of the Obama admin "intervened".

Whew, what a head-scratcher. Motive unclear.

Next time you're pointing out that in Chicago's legal climate, the connected are above the law & the disconnected get a life sentence for selling jellybeans without a permit, think twice before you blame "racism".
