You watch interviews with old (American) mafia guys like Michael Franzese & Sammy Gravano and everything is about the code, never targeting a guy's family, avoid killing civilians, keep it business-related. They were still seen as the dredges of society, the lowest of the low because of the greater harm their business was doing to society (drugs, tax fraud, etc) but they were mostly just killing each other.
How do we classify groups like "antifa" who lack even the moral boundaries of the mob? People who crack the skulls of random elderly bystanders just to go home knowing they didn't get all geared up for nothing. For a selfie.
They may very well be the human outcome of the homes broken by the drug trade. They aren't involved in any sort of business. They're attempting to extort the entire country.
They're also kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy. In the weakened state of Europe post-WW1, parasitic "anarcho-communist" organizations (including the original antifa) knew the military and police were too depleted to deal with them. The weary general populace turned to Franco, Hitler and Mussolini who promised order.
