Why do people thank God when good things happen but don't blame him for bad stuff

because if you blame god, the next time you wanna ask god a favor, it might not work anymore. so it's best to not blame god when shiiet doesnt go your way.

a better question is.. why do people that are not religious and dont believe in god, will say "thank god" if something good happens to them. seen it all the time.
