I touched on this yesterday. With a predominantly black cast, black director, and more resources to hire multiple marketing agencies they marketed the film in the mainstream as well as directly to African Americans.

You had the cast doing interviews on E! and in Lexus commercials, like all blockbusters. In addition, you had a much larger presence on urban radio, TV and social media.

You seem to have a problem that the film was marketed and promoted as both a Marvel Comics movie (which it is) and a groundbreaking film for african Americans (which it was from a resource allotment perspective).

Why does this cause you to react the way you do?

how is it groundbreaking? why is it considered such a massive milestone that black people made a film. the adulation this film has received is ****ing embarrassing, people turning up in suits to it having a black president was a milestone, not making a dumb comic book film lol

It’s the 1st time a film with a predominantly black cast and a black director has been given such a large production budget. It dispels the myth that a Predominantly black cast won’t sell mainstream.

Why does attire matter to you? I never saw you mention the attire any other group of people wore to a movie.

Agreed, making a movie wasn’t a milestone. Having that movie given the same financial backing for he first time in history was for those close to the industry.
