I hope all NFL players or the majority does this. Middle America and the South are big football fans but are also conservative and tends to send many people into the armed forces. The backlash would be pretty severe for the NFL.

Roger Goodell, the commish should have put a stop to the kneeling by Kaepernick right away to avoid this huge controversy. He could and should have forced the Niners to issue a stern warning citing personal conduct issues on CK and if he didn't stop, then there would be a suspension.

Here's the difference between a good commish and a crappy one. David Stern, former commish of the NBA after the huge Ron Artest melee in Detroit made a lot of reforms to the NBA image. He forced the players to adopt a dress code to look professional and forced the NBA players to take part in programs like NBA Cares to rehab the image.

Goodell just doesn't have the savvy of Stern.
