Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Another classic from Bogart as the lead. A great character study film. 9/10.

Netflix has fallen off so bad now and it's a multitude of reasons. Sure creating divisive woke content is bad, but that's only 1 reason. They just lost a bunch of licensed films and other film making studios aren't licensing to them anymore because they too have their own service, so they're not putting...

HBO for me. The content is crazy and has classic shows like Batman Animated Series, Sopranos, The Wire, etc. It's movie library is insane, especially older movies. Just got done binge watching a lot of Humphrey Bogart films and watched a few Kurosawa films. I had Netflix 2 years ago and don't remember...

Wow, what a post! I would also add that the same sorry 95% of media that advocates for lunatic policies that harms society and the country overall. Case in point, the media advocated and excused the looting and burning of stores nationwide during 2020 when George Floyd died, saying that it's alright...

The Untouchables. 8/10. Connery gives an excellent performance as Malone, although I think Costner was miscast as Elliot Ness. Good action set pieces, really good film with location and set design.

Jackie Brown. 9/10. IMO, Tarantino's 2nd best film. The dialogue, characters, plot, and best of all the soundtrack was exquisite. The man could write his ass off when it comes to his characters' dialogue.

Shawshank Redemption. 9/10. Saw it quite a few times now. Still a very excellent film. What keeps it from a perfect score is that some parts of the movie is too meandering. Darabont, the director is good at his craft but badly needs a good editor to trim some parts for it to flow better and have a consistent...

Unforgiven. 10/10. Wow, I was very surprised by this. Not your typical western. About 75% of the movie is barely to no action. It has a languid pace for the first 3/4ths of the movie. More character driven than anything. It deconstructs the romantic notion of the western genre and deals more so with...

The Big Sleep. Another classic film noir from Bogart but also starring Lauren Bacall as a femme fatale. A very complex plot with lots of characters. Excellent film. 9/10.

Lassie Come Home. 7.5/10. Probably the 2nd best family dog film I've seen after Old Yeller. Also starring a very young Elizabeth Taylor in one of her 1st roles.

A Clockwork Orange. First time seeing it in full. 9.5/10. Basically in a futuristic UK, some offenders are sent into treatment to modify their behaviors through classical conditioning. Superb use of classical music again by Kubrick. A very excellent film overall with the acting being a very strong...

Dumb and Dumber starring Jim Carrey. 7.5/10. Excellent comedy by Jim Carrey during his rise to stardom. It has aged well imo.

2001: ASO. 10/10. Always a great watch. IMO, the greatest sci-fi film, the visuals and special effects are still great 50 years later and the use of classical music as the score was brilliant by Kubrick. His greatest work.
