I have a friend who is a few years older than me born in the early 70s, he says he remembers that when Reagan won the presidency in 1980, the Democrats also threw accusations that Carter lost was because Reagan stole Jimmy Carter's debate questions and not because of oh..........things like double digit inflation, Iranian hostage crisis, energy crisis and that Carter was just so unpopular at that point and the country wanted a change in a different direction.
