How is "The Simpsons" still on the air?

Yo wtf? its still on? Simpsons used to be the show man! I remember in elementary and junior high watching all the new episodes, the halloween ones were the best, and the christmas ones, I never knew they still aired new episodes of it? I thougth those were just reruns.

I do know the creator is a billionaire and doesn't have to work for the rest of his life that Simpsons money $$$$
