While the democrats were able to win the massive black votes by using government handouts as incentives to sway the black vote which resulted in stagnating black inner city innovative growth and ambition.
Pretty much this... Democrats pander for minority votes, giving short term solutions and addicting them to social programs, instead of having the long view and giving them long term solutions and freedom for social movement to upper classes

76 Wasn't an anomaly, Democrats do not win the whole South and lose the Northeast and California, there were clear ideological differences that split a country like that. The better and more accurate explanation is that the Democrats still appealed to the South in 1976. The South in general had an identity crisis, that was resolved by Reagan in the 80's.

Thanks for the input thus far.
The black vote massively shifted from Republican to Democrat in the 1980's under Reagan. (The other poster was correct that it somewhat did begin in the 1960's)The reason for this was because Reagan was big on cutting taxes and limiting government power, which meant reducing welfare programs. He alienated a lot of the black vote by coining terms like "welfare queen" and basically making the black folks think he was out to get them by cutting their financial government help. Of course this wasn't the case, but that is how it was spun to the black community by the Democrats since. The Democrats made it their priority to offer social programs to minorities (imo further keeping them dependent and impoverished) while demonizing the Republicans as the bad men who want to take them away.

The economy became extremely healthy under Reagan, especially after going through a major slump in the 70's, coupled with Reagans rhetoric, made the South happily embrace the Republican party.

64: Barry Goldwater swept the deep south
68: Democrats won only Texas and lost all other southern states
72: Democrats won ZERO states in the south

76: anomaly: something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected

80: democrats won one state(Carter home state) in the south
84:democrats won ZERO states in the south
88: democrats won ZERO states in the south

            Cultural Marxists control both parties.

Many of the Marxists of the 50s and 60s became neocons in later life, or their children became neocons (example: David Frum).

The liberals of the Democratic party are really not so different from the neocons of the Republican party.

            Very true.

88: democrats won ZERO states in the south
1964: Democrats still won Tennessee, Florida, North and South Carolina, and Virginia. And the Reason the deep South partially switched to Goldwater was because they were so disenchanted by Kennedy/Johnson reforms, that them voting Goldwater was more of an F-U to the Democrats than genuine support for Republicans.

68: The Deep South still didn't vote Red either, they preferred an independent in George Wallace, because as mentioned before they were having an identity crisis

72: Democrats didn't just win 0 states in the South, they won just about 0 states in the whole USA. Every single state but one voted Republican in 72. That has a lot more to do with Nixons popularity than party lines.

76: This is the last year that the south would vote Democrat in modern elections

80: The WHOLE country votes Republican

84: The WHOLE country votes Republican

88: With the popularity of Reagan the South had only now finally committed their full support.

Not sure if I completely agree with this or not. I agree that blacks should be more self sufficient and solve their own issues. However, towards the end of the video when Malcolm starts talking about liberals, I'm not sure I agree with that

This is true. This is why Trump is getting so much flak from his own party.
