That's not how it works in america.

It's not like mp or pm. When you're president, you're president.

The primary is mainly to pick who runs for president for each party. The party of the incumbent president, their primary is just a formality. Last incumbent u.s. president to be challenged seriously in a primary was george bush sr in 1992 by ultra conservative pat Buchanan and even that wasnt that serious or close.

It's also not a govt process. It's a party process.
