How is he not some business genius. There is nothing harder or more lucrative then fighting and clawing your way to the top of Manhattan and global real estate. Guys like Cuban got lucky in the tech boom and made their bones there. The truth is Donald Trump transcended the Manhattan skyline and lead a recovery that saved a crumbling Manhattan. He took over the business once he got a footing in Manhattan and liquidated some of the assets his father had which was maybe around 200 million. He has hit rock bottom before and has come back stronger. He has a winning take no prisoners total war mentality which is a reason he has so many past enemies in the business world. Donalds business acumen is unparalleled and succeeds in just about every field of business. Buffet and Gates could never lead a country because they don't have the temperament and leadership to claw to the top and overcome what Trump has accomplished through this election cycle. 16 Republican candidates, political establishment, mainstream media, vs Trump.

He's about as good of a businessman as Mayweather. He's a trust fund kid who's been bankrupt numerous times, he's not some business genius lmao.

There's no gaming the system here. If Joe the carpenter lost $100K in his construction business, he would be allowed that same deduction. And if Joe didn't use up the entire loss in the year then he could carry it forward (for 20 years) until it's used up.

Donald Trump surrogates took to the Sunday morning talk shows to insist that the businessman possibly not paying federal income taxes for almost 20 years would have been both brilliant and responsible.

Less than 24 hours after the New York Times reported on Trump’s partial tax return from 1995, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani both defended the Republican presidential nominee’s use of the tax code. The document showed Trump had claimed losses of $916 million from his casinos in Atlantic City, New York’s Plaza Hotel and an airline — losses that could offset future taxes owed, under Internal Revenue Service guidelines, according to the Times.

“There’s no one who’s shown more genius in their way to maneuver around the tax code,” Christie said on Fox News Sunday, reports Politico.

On CNN’s State of the Union, Giuliani agreed with him: “The headline should have been, ‘Donald Trump takes advantage of legal provisions in tax code.”

In fact, both blamed any of Trump’s interactions with the tax code on the tax code itself. Christie went as far as to suggest that Trump’s behavior illuminates the “mess” that the tax code is right now, and Trump’s experience with that mess means he is the “person best positioned” to clean it up.

And if the billionaire did avoid giving the country money in the form of federal tax income that Americans with taxable income generally have to pay, Giuliani added that he did so out of duty.
“This is a perfectly legal application of the tax code,” Giuliani told This Week on ABC. “And he would’ve been fool not to take advantage of it. Not only that, he would’ve probably breached his fiduciary duty to his investors, to his business.”

If he used the existing tax system to avoid paying taxes for 20 years, do you think he's the only one to do it?

Also, since he's never been charged with tax evasion, he must have followed the existing laws too.

Since all the Wall Street guys, super rich CEOs, super rich movie stars and ULTRA RICH moguls like George Soros ALL donated hundreds of millions to the Clinton campaign and Clinton Foundation, does anyone think she is going to "tax the rich" and "make them pay their fair share" like she says?

LMAO, they donated to Clinton because they know she is a "pay to play" politician. Her husband is largely responsible for the tax system we have and they know she will allow the rich to legally manipulate the system and avoid paying taxes while hiking up taxes on the middle class to offset the difference.

You are right and he has played it all by the rules like many other corporations have done...look at the US auto industry. But it is being spun by main stream media as a conspiracy as they do with everything he does.

Here is an interesting article from Forbes about his fillings for bankruptcy protection...non of which were personal bankruptcies.
