Surely these countries are now rich enough to kick the monarchy out and become independent nations, why do they still have to be ruled by the queen. Just look at what happened to Gulf Whitlam of Australia when he tried to go against the monarchy, it doesn't make too much sense from their point of view in this day and age, they benefit/gain nothing and lose everything including their nations independence?

Gough Whitlam. He was removed by the Governor General in 1975. It was known as the Australian Constitutional Crisis. Forty years ago.

It was also precipitated not by a monarch going "Ooh that Gough Whitlam has a name that's hard to spell, let's sack him" but by partisan political fuckery of the sort that is causing problems in the United States with the Opposition in the Commons controlling the senate and blocking, among other things, the supply bills that would allow the Government to pay its bills. Sound familiar? So in order to prevent the Australian government from falling apart the Governor General, on advice of the High Court Chief Justice, dismissed the Prime Minister and appointed an interim who called for an election.

The Governor General made his moves without informing the Prime Minister because he was concerned that Whitlam would go to the Queen and request she dismiss the Governor General before he could dismiss the PM. Yes, the Prime Minister would try and prevent his dismissal by going to the Queen, which is the opposite of the scenario you are trying to paint here.
