                True to an extent but in a boxing forum I imagine a lot of people have had experience with the sport, I can only speak for myself and know that I have. War is infinitely deeper and more complex than boxing (it also has a much much longer history), a person can't seriously answer this question. It seems people on every forum are experts in ranking everything.

                    I wish I knew more about this stuff, because it's really interesting.

                    Napolean and Alexander are definitely up there though from what I know about them. I think I would have Napolean a notch above him though.

                      There are obviously plenty of names you can drop, but I'm only really qualified to talk about Colin Campbell. I came across him in the Flashman books and he piqued my interest, so I read quite a lot about his involvement in the Crimean War and Indian Mutiny. Seems like he was a great, but lesser-known, General on a par with pretty much anyone.

                      Oh and Fighting Bob Sale is a legend for his derring-do.
