It's unquestionable that the Greeks got certain things from the Egyptians (or that certain things learned by the Egyptians found their way to the Greeks) but yes the "afrocentric quacks" take it too far.

No knowledge exists in a vacuum, but I just feel the world owes Greek civilization so much. From the Greeks and Chinese to the Muslim world and then from that to Europe again (Renaissance) and now from Europe to the USA which pushes the frontiers forward today.

We all share knowledge and build upon others work.

The afrocentric nutjobs lose it a little, they think the ancient egyptians were black when they were not, they were egyptian like egyptians today, they come in many shades from the whitest white to sort of black, you can also see this in their paintings

Yes surely some knowledge transferred, but they act like the Greece just stole a bunch of books and claimed credit.

To be fair the Greeks learned a large, LARGE chunk of their civilisation from the egyptians

              Sources?

See Greek civilization and its passing the torch Eastward leading to the golden ages of Islamic civilization, then that feeding into a new European revival and then from Europe to the 'new world' is all documented.

(Obviously that is extremely short hand of the flow of knowledge, but you know A build upon B who built upon C etc).

Where is proof that "large chunks" of Greek knowledge came from Egypt?

Instead of imagining why don't you read about it?

Your two examples are straight out of the industrial revolution. People tend to assume the world was always the way they know it now.

No not at all, the golden ages of islamic civilisation brought civilisation to europe, it was the moors of morocco etc that brought running tap water and many of todays day to day uses to the european/western world.

What more sources do you need the alexander himself, he fell in love with egypt soo much he renamed the capital(at that time) Alexandria, not only that but look their scriptures, soo many proofs not just a small thing like that I suggest you read http://www.philipcoppens.com/egyptgreece.html

Theres a reason its called the 'cradle of civilisation' because it was supposedly the first time in human history that had a functioning congruent society as we know it today, different people with different jobs in a congruent society with one ruler
