I was recomended this for Halloween but it was just so very average.

The film dedicated about 10 minutes to building the characters and the setting before jumping straight into a bunch of horror cliches (knocking sounds, 'fake' suspense moments, screaming woman) and it meant that i literally gave no ****s about what was happening to either of the main characters. The film blew its load way to early showing what the bad guys looked like and for me that killed any suspense they were trying to create.

Overall tedious, boring, 'seen it all before' horror movie.

Very good flick with great acting and story line. However, I'm in the minority perhaps, but I felt The Departed was the superior film on many levels. I think The Departed just took the great ideas from IA and expanded on it with better character development and made the story flow better. Still an awesome film and I can see why Scorsese chose to do a remake.
