How do you think they filmed it? Was it CGI or a manequine or what? What's your opinion?

martyrs is a dope movie. 5 stars.

It's deeper than just a brutal film, leaves you thinking.

Yeah, I've seen it. It's a vile piece of trash. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. Absolutely nothing "good" about it. I don't know why anyone would make such a crappy film. I'm pretty desensitized to movies and it's not like I felt scarred after watching it but it's really just a pointless and ridiculous piece of garbage.

I consider myself a videophile. I love movies, and I pride myself on seeing movies most people haven't seen. Independant films and such. But there are these rare, mostly unseen, often horribly acted and directed films that people seem to just be dying to see because they're so violent.

            Movies like
            Salo
            http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073650/

            Chaos
            http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405977/

            August Undergrounds Mordum
            http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0410332/

            Cannibal Holocaust
            http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078935/

and some other movie I couldn't even find information about called A Serbian Film.

(Note: I didn't include any of the Faces of Death series because these are not movies, per se'. To me they're just strung together clips)

I haven't seen any of these, and have no intention of seeing what are proabably crapfests, but my question is this:

            What makes people
            1. want to MAKE or act in films like these, or

            2. watch films like these?

I'm curious to hear from those of you who might have actually seen one (or god forbid more) of these movies, (or a movie like these) with your reasoning behind why you saw them? Was it just morbid curiosity after hearing all the hype?

            Someone's a lonely virgin!

Glad I'm not the only one

The French have really stepped their horror/dark/torture movies up over the years. Martyrs is my favorite, but there were some other good ones like High Tension, Frontier(s), Inside, etc.

Speaking of ultra violent, Inside (Ŕ l'intérieur) had some pretty damn violent scenes

plus it had kind of a lightlweight lookin, more pyscho/angry angelina jolie b!tch that played the role really well. freaky hoe!

It's campy I know but El Topo. You never see that movie around. For a 1971 movie that was pretty damn violent.

A Serbian Film isn't the most violent movie relatively speaking, but it makes up for it on the perverted side.

Yeah, for sure. Newborn porn anyone?

GT: I've actually seen Cannibal Holocaust as well. Very violent with a crazy ending. One of the most gruesome parts is when they kill a turtle (it's real footage of a turtle being killed).
