and isn't shown getting killed in the vicinity, despite the

Ep.9 is very interesting because divergences from the
books are richly promising:
A pregnant Queen 'Talisa' is there. The Blackfish is there.
The band starts playing a Lannister anthem (the episode
title) just before the carnage begins. Roose tells Robb
"The Lannisters sends their regards", rather than merely
passing on Jamie's greeting, etc, etc.
It allows a more-focused show in the future, than would a
more 'faithful' retell: The Lannisters more-explicitly as THE
grand orchestrators, rather than the potentially-confusing
political free-for-all with so many factions in the books.Last edited by horge; 06-06-2013, 04:03 PM.

The biggest change, especially for book readers, was Robb's wife being there. That probably kills a lot of theories book readers have.

I was overeager, piling on the show's attempts to focus its
viewers towards perceiving a Lannister conspiracy. A lot of
'loose-end distractions' (in a context of compact TV-show
scripting and humongous production cost) were all tied off
in episode 9.

HBO may have provided him an opportunity to retroactively
kill one, in an alternate-universe sort of way.
