I work pizza delivery on the weekend as my third job. I've been doing delivery on an off for about 9 months now. I'd say I've delivered to about a dozen black people. So far, the highest tip I've gotten is 3 dollars. I'd say the average tip I get from blacks is about a dollar and a half. Compare that to the average tip of about 2 and a half dollars I get from everyone else. Th highest tip I've gotten from a non black person has been 30 dollars.

People, if you ever decide to do pizza delivery, don't deliver to a ghetto area or an area with a lot of ghetto blacks. It's not worth it. You're not going to get tips and you might get robbed.

I hate stereotyping but I work in at a restaurant in a major casino here in Vegas and I've found this to be true the majority of the time as well.

Foreigners suck at tipping as well. (which is fine and dandy just don't expect me to follow your customs when I go to your country since you don't follow mine lol)

It sucks that you have to rely on tips, servers should get more hourly, but they don't.
the restaurant expects the customer to pay for their work. if they increased the hourly, food would be MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE however.

The definition of gratuity (tipping) is:
1. (Business / Commerce) a gift or reward, usually of money, for services rendered; tip
2. something given without claim or obligation.

So a server shouldn't feel like he deserves to get tipped. If he or she doesn't like it.. they could work in another industry.

It still sucks giving someone great service and not getting anything though.
