The only Crowe performance I beleive to be outstanding was A Beautiful Mind. The rest of his work was tailor made so any actor who did it would have got praise. I honestly don't beleive Crowe has proved his worth yet.....

Any **** can do what he's done so far.....

            Crowe by a Mile

His range on its own is magnificent.

Romper Stomper to The Insider via A Beautiful Mind and Gladiator. Its obvious he took Robin Hood for the cash.

Gibson hasn't been a great one since his Mad Max days sadly. Bravehearts good for a few cans and a laugh but Russel Crowe is the real deal. And guys he's not acting in Apocalypto and The Passion. Heres Mel at his peak:

              Crowe's movies are great, but...

I love Crowe's movies, but I've never felt he carried the movie, or that
Russell Crowe made the movie excellent.
I always felt that he did a good job, but I'm puzzled how they can't find someone more outstanding.

Mel Gibson, on the other hand, is perfect in almost every movie I've seen.

Braveheart would be just okay if Russell Crowe played William Wallace.
Payback would be good if they couldn't get Gibson and had to settle for Russell Crowe.

Gladiator was excellent, but it would have been even better with Mel Gibson. That would've been more believable, since Crowe looks like a big toddler whose hands can't reach his own pockets.

Russell Crowe's greatest achievement is making his voice sound like Mel Gibson's.

Crowe has been less than stellar lately......but his resume from the mid 90's to the mid 00's was pretty impressive with a wide variety of roles.

                  LA Confidential
                  The Insider
                  Gladiator
                  A Beautiful Mind
                  Master and Commander
                  Cinderella Man
                  3:10 to Yuma
                  American Gangster

Not too bad. His role selection started getting a bit more safe and mediocre int he late 00's though.
