argentina has an inflation rate of 143% under their left wing government and have a poverty rate of 40%, thats why they have switched the right, the root of the problem isnt a left or right thing but certainly the recent governments have not helped matters at all... not followed this election too much as i despair when it comes to latin americas voting tendencies (probably the region with the most stupid voting tendencies on the planet) but am pleasantly surprised he won

From what I read, the left-wing establishment in Argentina did a terrible job running the country, so the people went for a right-wing anti-establishment choice. Same as we've seen happen in other countries. His policies are at least different, whether they work or not. Argentina has had economic problems across decades, ditching their currency for the dollar is an interesting way to go.

He was running against Massa. Massa was the minister of economy and during his time they absolutely destroyed Argentina's economy.

So the people got sick of it and voted for this guy.

He certainly studied Trump a bit. He clearly understands large amounts of society are getting tired of lunatic far left ideologies and If he is a person that openly shouts about it rather than typical politician speak which people also get tired of, then you have a good chance of attracting support. Tie that in with the fact your opponent being a minister of economy of a declining economy...
