That said, I can relate a little.

However, I'm leaving here mostly to not be an English teacher, among other things.

That being said.

Japan isn't what you expected? Check.

Had a crazy girlfiend? Check.

No real friends? Check.

I do get intellectual conversation, so no check.

Trapped in a cubicle teaching the same sh itty lessons day in day out? Not quite, though I do teach the same sh itty lessons for a part time job, but they also pay really well (really well), so it works out.

Alcoholic? Check.

Getting fat and miserable? Not sure. I'm not fat. I got a bit fat on my first year, but then worked it off. Miserable? Check.

Don't care anymore? Check. Been here too long? Check.

Can't go back home? Not so sure, but I'm going.

No actual qualifications? I'd like to call that one a negative, but then, time will tell and I'm thinking of going to cullinary school, so maybe a check. But I mostly just want a new path.

All in all, a good piece of writing there.

I once drove from Seattle to So. OR, and I somehow got the bright idea to have a can of Sparks on the way.

I wasn't at all intoxicated. But I might have been slightly distracted.

I kid you not, I hit a freeway exit to a noname place to piss in the woods, and there was like a 20 mile an hour turn, and I hit it at like 55. Didn't see it coming.

I slammed on the breaks, then let off them, skidded threw the turn, then hit them again, and slid through the stop sign.
