As I stated previously, Obama promised to deliver us from Wall Street and the big banks..to further move us away from the type of fallout that the current market crash had caused yet it's an impossibility. Obama is even more in the shadow of wall street than any past president.

As you said, they got us again...the old bait and switch on the american people and we accepted it...hook, line and sinker.
I hope you also read my whole post. This stuff is actually happening. Now he's telling the CEO's of banks that "MY ADMINISTRATION IS THE ONLY THING BETWEEN YOU AND THE PITCHFORKS." This stuff is ACTUALLY HAPPENING. Yay, such a nice guy, great family, $15,000 swingset, what a great family. What more don't we know? Of course, the liberal media won't report any of this on its NBC's, and ABC's, or even 60 minutes. You need to put 2 and 2 together, and get past all of the smokescreens. And really, if he'll betray his blood (as he is half white), his own mother for that, what else will he do?

Yes, the past guy was horrible, and what he did was criminal, however this will drastically change the face of the country for a long, long time. I really wanted to believe in this guy, I had my doubts, nothing is ever as good as it seems I guess. I'll be long gone before I watch it happen.

And its not even about his race, really. Though when you really think about it, he's not even really American, so I don't think anybody can really identify with him...except probably Europeans

That was the same point I was trying to make. Every bit of it is going on out in the open and 99% of this country is completely oblivious.

well the thing about Obama is that his race, accordingly so I supposed, was the huge selling point. They blinded us with his race, and promises to be different, when in turn it wasn't so....like I say, bait and switch.

Yeah, but I think it would be much more fitting for somebody who actually deserves to be the first black president. Somebody who's shown they'll fight for the country and keep his accountability. I'm talking about Colin Powell. Maybe he can be the first 100% black to be prez?

        We've been had.

Some nations have even warned the U.S. not to move too far left such as Vladamir Putin who reminded them of the negative turns that the former Soviet Union took.

Not only are pro-capitalists (citizens) concerned over the amount of regulation by the government but they're also concerned over the amount of control by the government over private enterprise (with GM being the recent one in the news). Do you agree or disagree that the U.S. is moving away from capitalism and turning to socialism? If you agree, do you think it's a positive or negative turn? If you disagree then how do you account for all the government regulation that is contrary to capitalist principles.

I think Colin Powell probably screwed his chances by turning his back on the Bush Administration when they had him go in front of the UN and lie like a cheap rug. Plus, I'm not entirely sure they could control him as easily as they did Dubya and now Obama.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that, I'm sorry! I should've known better than to nominate an accountable, intelligent human for the presidency! This is the post-Kennedy era of presidents, after all.

It's important for anyone and everyone to understand and follow American politics and economics. The U.S. has the largest influence in the world politically and they account for nearly 25% of the world's economy. Canada is America's North American neighbour and whatever happens in the U.S. economically will surely affect Canada which is why it's important for Canadians to understand how the American system and economy works. Many decisions made by the U.S. can ultimately influence Canada so I think it's great to keep up with it...

Most definite. The United States and Canada are close allies and very deeply linked economically. However what has always troubled the US Gov't does things with little regard as to how it will impact, not only it's own people, but those of it's allies and neighbors.

The term "National Interest" is a veiled reference to "Money Interest" because we usually do nothing politically unless it benefits someone monetarily somehow.

Is it true what they say about Socialism? That it doesn’t create new ideas or innervations?? Or is that just propaganda

What has ever been invented in Socialism? If you thought of something which revolutionized the Internet, for example, wouldn't you want to be payed for it? There is no incentive for innovation and achievement in Socialism. Everything stays the same, never moving forward. Which is why they still drive cars made a half century ago in Cuba. Using the Internet as an example, the inventions and innovation that's ocurred can only have happened in a capitalistic environment. We would still be using dial-up in a Socialist state....maybe we wouldn't even have Internet
