    Heavybag construction

I need help with constructing a heavy bag, but first I will say that I already have a wavemaster and BOB freestanding bags. However I feel that they may not be as good as a real heavy bag because all the weight is in the bottom of the bag in the base, as opposed to being packed in the bag itself. Filled it states that it weighs 270 pounds, both of them, so how do I know if it would be the same with training with a 270 pound heavy bag?

I would like to make a heavy bag weighing 250 to 300 pounds.

You don't need such a heavy bag, Its not good for your joints. 100-200max
The free standing bags are so heavy to keep them from moving and tipping.
Doesn't work I still knock em over and scoot em cross the floor.

Yeah I scoot them across the floor too, it is extremely annoying. I would love it if I could by a big bag, but the heaviest I have seen is a 130 pound one, and it was like 400.00, I would hate to see what a bigger one like 200 would cost me, if I could find it anyways.

Kingdosia is right. You don't need a bag that heavy. You need crisp, clean punches to a given target and a leather bag that is long enough and well-filled throughout, not too hard or soft, and the stuffing should not sink to the bottom of the bag. There is nothing wrong with the Wavemaster if it is properly filled with water. You get what you pay for.....

Youll end up hurting your wrists with a bag that heavy, especially when you havnt perfected your basic punches..
