Rockin', What do you think are some of the disadvantages of Winky Wrights style compared to a basic conventional stance?
Doesnt throw a great deal of punches, some times even though he is not being hit the opponent can steal the judges eye with activity. Mind you Winkys defense is awsome and he is great with it but it can allow rounds to be stolen from him even though hes not getting hit much.

If you go with southpaw- rely on your straight left - right hook combos and not your jab. Relying on the jab and using it like an orthodox fighter can get you in some really bad positions if the other guy knows what he's doing.
In a fight of southpaw vs orthodox, it's all about positional dominance. A fighter that understands this game will use positional dominance to disable one of the opponent's arms and make it a 2 on 1 type situation. A lot of guys who switch-hit don't really understand this and tend to get caught.
